2018 Councilor in Training Application

Applications for DRS Councilor-in-Training are now being accepted for the 2018-2020 term. The Councilor-In-Training serves as a non-voting member on the Board of Director. The Councilor-in-Training member is responsible for increasing understanding and communication between the current Board leaders and the student and training members of the Society.

This person also serves as chair the Student Advisory Council Committee which initiates activities during the Annual Meeting of the Society as well as generates/executes plans to further engage student and training members throughout the year. The Councilor-in-Training member is expected to attend the Annual Board Meeting at the conference and participate in pertinent conference calls.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Be a student member of DRS and have student/trainee/post-doctorate status during their term on the Board (April 2018-April 2020)

2. Have attended the Annual Dysphagia Research Society meeting at least twice

3. Presented a poster or oral presentation at DRS at least once

4. Have at least one publication in the field of swallowing and swallowing disorders

Applicants must submit a completed face sheet, CV and 2 letters of recommendation (from a mentor as well as from a DRS member outside of the applicant’s institution)

Students/Trainees should submit completed face sheet, CV and letters of recommendation via email to by January 29, 2018.
