Elisabete Carrara de Angelis, PhD

Elisabete Carrara de Angelis, PHD, CCC-SLP is diretor of the Voice, Speech and Swallowing Rehabilitation Departament in A.C.Camargo Cancer Center, São Paulo, Brazil. She specializes in Voice Disorders and Oral Motricity by Federal Board of Speech Pathology. She received her master’s degree in Human Communication Disorders and her PhD degree in Neurosciences from the Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo and she was the first Brazilian speech pathologist to do also her master’s dissertation as the PHD thesis in Dysphagia.


Her research has focused on head and neck cancer. Dr. Carrara de Angelis has written a number of articles and chapters. She has authored/coauthored two books on Dysphagia, and has made numerous presentations on issues related to swallowing disorders. She is supervisor of the Graduate Program in Oncology of the Fundação Antonio Prudent and coordinator of specialization courses in Dysphagia. Full member of The Dysphagia Research Society. She has received several honors for her leadership and service, including "Featured on Voice" (2009) and "Featured on Dysphagia" (2011) by Brasilian Society of Speech Pathology”, and “Entrepreneur Award in Speech Pathology”(2014) by Federal Board of Speech Pathology.
