Neurosensory and neuromotor effects result in muscular contraction, relaxation and coordination, which are dependent on sensory characteristics of the stimulus and sensory processing abilities. These experiences can influence dynamic motility downstream, as well as a pleasant sensory experiences upstream that can reinforce memory to eat successfully.

After this presentation, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the dynamic changes occurring in sensory perception during oral processing.
  • Become familiar with sensory testing approaches for measuring dynamic responses.
  • Understand factors contributing to texture perception during oral processing.
